Mike Ashton

Mike Ashton is a chartered building surveyor and Director of Cambridge Building Surveyors, an RICS-regulated practice covering Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas. With over 20 years’ experience, he carries out residential surveys, advises on defects, and works on party wall matters for homeowners buying, selling, or resolving disputes.

As part of his party wall work, he’s regularly appointed as a Third Surveyor under the Party Wall Act, a role typically reserved for experienced surveyors trusted to resolve disputes.

Mike’s work involves inspecting properties, identifying issues that could affect value or safety, and explaining what they mean in practical terms. That experience shapes how he approaches survey advice, focusing on what buyers need to know before they commit, and what steps actually help when problems are uncovered.
